The picture below is a recent picture of me at a friends wedding in Queens; behind me is the East River and the Manhattan sky line
Hello to all in Molloy Colleges' Gotham class, my name is Dorothy Michaels. I am a registered nurse working for North Shore LIJ. Currently I am advancing my nursing education at Molloy College. I have lived in Bellmore, a part of Nassau County for the past thirteen years. Prior to that and for a short period after my children were born, I lived in the lower East Side of Manhattan as well as Prospect Park and Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn.
I look forward to the course for two reasons, the first, Mike and Damian are going to take me to places I have yet to navigate to. The second, what better way is there to take a core class then this?
New York City brings fond memories of Washington Square Park, playing in Coney Island and watching The Little Shop of Horrors play on Eighth Street and Second Avenue too many times to count. The five boroughs of New York City create the most diverse place in the world. More than 200 languages are spoken along with many religions and food cultures. I love the city because of its' diversity in culture, art and theater. I am intrigued by its' history and let us not forget the food, is simply the best in the world.

Below is a video of Belvadere Castle in Central Park. I love Central Park, because of the Museum's, Castle, Ice skating and concert's on the "Great Lawn."
